Neus Herrera (b. 1995 in Madrid, Spain) is a visual artist based in between her birth city and Valencia. Her education consists of a background in film and audiovisual studies, with a strong focus on photographic content and its influence on the spectator’s cognition.
Her work explores the human existence within natural or artificial environments. There is an emphasis on the beauty of the subjects she captures, meticulously working on compositions and colour treatments that appeal to the human eye. Neus Herrera’s work invites the spectators to reflect on their own condition and relationship to the photography’s subject; touching upon topics such as empathy, identification, cultural sensitivity, sustainability, freedom and solidarity.
On the commercial level, Neus’ photography provides a clean, controlled vision of the portrayed concept. The photographic image is a way to tell a story, and she often aims to transmit emotions through intimate angles and a transparent process.
